Report on the IBSSA President's visit to Lisbon / Portugal between 11 - 13 February 2006


Prof. George POPPER, IBSSA president, travelled to Lisbon between February 11 - 13, 2006 to attend the Grand Council meeting of the Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta, F.A.P.

During the visit, Prof. Popper met Dame Dr. Maria Teresa Costa Da MACEDO, President of Mission Europa, and they discussed co-operation among IBSSA and Mission Europa and CIP-UIOF in the area of security, fight against drugs and alcohol, with special consideration to the interests of families and children.

Prof. George POPPER was also introduced to Mr. Rui Daniel ROSÁRIO, Cabinet chief of the Portuguese Minister of Solidarity.

Dr. Maria Teresa will soon travel to Macau, where her daughter is a high-ranking government official and Prof. Popper has offered IBSSA assistance in anti-terrorism, drugs, violence and other education. Settlement, vehicle or information security could also be interesting topics.

On the 13th February 2006 the company of Dr. Abel de Lacerda BOTELHO, Honorary Member of IBSSA and International Coordinator for Brazil, the Chelworth Investments Ltd. organised in Lisbon a demonstration of a fantastic new product in the world of USA Sniffex company detecting explosives.
